Resume Tips for Fresh Graduates

Writing your first resume is a challenging task. With little to no work experience, fresh graduates face the problem of what to write and which things to include in their CV.

The good news is that you don’t have to feel confused. By putting in some research work, and following a solid strategy, you can create an effective resume that gives a good start on the job market. Here’s a basic rundown of what you fresh graduates should include in their resume:

• Contact Details – Name, updated contact number, professional looking email address

• Professional Career Goal – Tailor fit your career goal/s to the job you are applying for

• Educational Background – Start from the highest and most recent educational achievement followed by other degrees.

• Work Experience – If you don’t have any, list down your OJT experience and then other volunteer activities you did in the past

• Achievements – List down awards and medals won, certificates, etc.

• Personal Information – You can include hobbies and other personal information (not too personal) to help the interviewer get to know you more.

• References – List down 3 (your college professor, the name of the manager you reported under during your OJT, name of the head of the organization you volunteered for, etc.)

Use these tips to help guide you with the things you can write down on your resume. Another helpful tip – don’t be discouraged.

If you didn’t get the job you applied for, just keep on applying. The experience of writing your resume, tailoring it to the job you’re applying for, and then just attending a job interview will help you become a better job hunter and ultimately land you that job.
