Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Job Fair in Pasay City a Huge Success

Thousands of job seekers from all over the Metro gathered at the Cuneta Astrodome, Pasay City for the Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Job Fair!

Fresh graduates, career shifters, and even passive job seekers had a field day checking out and applying to over 15,000 jobs available.

DZXL Radyo Trabaho and MoreThanJobs.com.ph in partnership with PESO Pasay City and the Office of the City Mayor pooled together their resources to mount the event.

The job fair also coincided with DOLE’s 86th Anniversary and Pasay City’s 156th Foundation Day.

Over 100 establishments from various industries such as in construction, wholesale retail & trade, health, beauty & wellness; hotel & restaurant participated in the event.

The most locally in-demand job postings are carpenters, steelman, laborers, gaming associates, janitors, healthcare associates, masons, sales assistants, cashiers, service crews, painters, pharmacists, promodisers, welders, and baggers.

Overseas employment opportunities were also available for nurses, kitchen helpers, engineers, carpenters, heavy equipment operators, restaurant workers, hairstylists, administrators, and supervisors in countries such as Brunei, Japan, Kuwait, New Zealand, Qatar, Russia, and Taiwan.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) also provided learning sessions on simple bookkeeping, records management, customer relations, and selling techniques while the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) conducted skills demonstration.

Sutherland Global’s resource person also conducted a short training for prospective applicants on how to project themselves during an interview.

Government agencies such as the Social Security System (SSS), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), National Bureau of Investigations (NBI), Philhealth, Pag-IBIG, and Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) provided on-site pre-employment services for job seekers.

DOLE services such as OFW Reintegration Assistance, Livelihood Counselling and legal services were also offered during the TNK Job Fair.

Malacañang Palace has declared February 28, March 2,7,8,17, 21 and 24, 2017 as special non-working holiday in selected areas for the celebration of important events.

Acting Executive Secretary Menardo I. Guevarra through the authority of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte signed proclamations No. 152-160, declaring special non-working day in Escalante City in Negros Occidental, La Union, Samal City, Basilan, Tayug in Pangasinan, Calapan City in Oriental Mindoro, Tangub City, Compostela Valley and Tabaco City in Albay.

Proclamation No. 152: Escalante City, Negros Occidental will celebrate Charter Day on Tuesday, February 28.

Proclamation No. 153: Celebration of the 167th Founding Anniversary of La Union Province on Thursday, March 2.

Proclamation No. 154: Celebration of the Charter Anniversary of the Island Garden City of Samal on Tuesday, March 7.

Proclamation No. 155: Celebration of the 43rd Founding Anniversary of the Province of Basilan on Tuesday, March 7.

Proclamation No. 156: Founding Anniversary of the Municipality of Tayug, Pangasinan on Friday, March 17.

Proclamation No. 157: Celebration of the 19th Founding Anniversary of the City of Calapan, Oriental Mindoro on Tuesday, March 21.
